My first press conference, with my colleagues from the film festival, a film director, and the Lebanese ambassador to Argentina.

はじめての記者会見です。 映画祭の同僚と映画監督とレバノンの大使がいました。

Mi primera conferencia de prensa. Mis colegas del festival estaban, junto con la directora de una de las películas y el embajador libanés.

Sunday afternoon 日曜日の午後 un domingo por la tarde يوم الاحد بعد الظهر

Today was election day in Argentina, which meant I couldn´t buy wine.  I met a friend in a park in the afternoon and we did some watercolor painting while Koichi played soccer.  I left out all the dogs and the people drinking mate and the discarded water bottle and the cement apartment buildings and the pigeons and the blue sky and the soft, late afternoon sunlight, but they were there, too.

今日は選挙の投票日でした。だから、ワインを買うことはできませんでした。公園で友達と会って、一緒に絵を描きました、その間浩一さんはサッカーをしました。公園には犬、マテを飲む人、ペットボトル、セメントマンション、鳩、青い空、それからやわらかい午後おそく日ざしがありましたが、絵では省きました。

Hoy celebraron las elecciones en Argentina, lo cual significaba que no podía comprar vino.  Me encontré con un amigo en el parque y pintamos con acuarelas mientras que Koichi jugó al fútbol.  Obvié los perros, la gente tomando mate, la botella descartada, los edificios de hormigón, las palomas, el cielo azul, y la tenue luz del sol al atardecer, pero sí que estaban allí también. 

A Day trip 日帰り旅行 Una Excursión رحلة قصيرة

The sky was cloudy as we boarded the train - our first train ride here - but the sun had slipped past the clouds and was casting a warm glow on Tigre by the time we arrived.  A port full of beautiful shops, lunch in a sunny plaza, the mate museum, and then a trip on the latte colored waters of the river delta.  We had forgotten our camera, so I didn't mind paying extra for the cruise photo, taken just after we stepped on board the catamaran. 

昨日初めてアルゼンチンで電車に乗りました。電車に乗ったとき、天気は曇りでしたが、ティグレ市に着いたら、はれていました。河港のきれいな店、明るいひろばでランチ、マテ茶の博物館、そして茶色の川で巡航です。上の写真は船に乗り込むとき乗務員が撮った写真です。自分のカメラを忘れたから、私は嬉しくて写真を買いました。

السماء كان غائم عندما ركبنا القطار لمرة الاولى في الأرجنتين, ولكن كانت الشمس يخرج كما وصلنا الى مدينة "تيغراي" او "النمر". المرفأ كان ملئ من الدكاكين الجميلة, وتغدىنا في ساحة مغمورة بأشعة الشمس, وزورنا متهف المتة, وثمرارتحنا خلال رحلة نهلية على الماء بلون القهوة. فرد من الطاقم صور هذه الصورة لما ركبنا السفينة, وكان قد نسي الكاميرا, ولذلك إشترينا بفرح الصورة     

Movie 映画 Película فيلم

Yesterday, Koichi and I went to see the Argentine movie, Samurai.  It's about a young Japanese man living in Argentina in 1879.  The movie was great!  (We bought a copy if you want to see it.)  I was a little nervous watching it though, because the main actor was sitting right behind us in the theater!  :-O

昨日私は浩一さんと一緒に「さむらい」とい言うアルゼンチンの映画を見に行きました。この映画は、１８９７年にアルゼンチンに住んでいる日本人の男の話です。素晴らしかったので、DVDを買いました！見るときに、少しどきどきしていました、俳優さんが私のうしろに座っていましたから！　(・。・;)

Ice Cream アイスクレーム Helado بوظة

Ice cream, ice cream, ice cream!  We eat a ton of ice cream here!  Passion fruit, Zabaione (an egg custard), Patagonian chocolate (with berries),  dulce de leche (like caramel)... so many options, such little time!  The photo above shows you what a lot of ice cream places look like in Argentina.

アイスクリーム、アイスクリーム、アイスクリーク！　ここはたくさんアイスクリーム食べます!　クダモノトケイソウやザバイオーネやパタゴニアのチョコレート（チョコレートとベリー）やドゥルセ・デ・レーチェなど．．．色々なせんたくしがあるけど、時間が短いですね！

Helado, helado, helado!  ¡La cantidad de helado que comemos acá!  Maracuyá, sambayón, chocolate patagónico,  dulce de leche... tantas opciones, ¡tan poco tiempo! 

بوظة, بوظة, بوظة! نأكل كثير من البوظة هناك! ماراجويا, سابايوني, شوكولا باتاغوني, دولسي دي ليتشه (الكرمل)... في خيارات كثيرة ولكن ليس هناك وقت كافية لنأكل كل ما نريد

Balony バルコニー Balcón شرفة

At first I thought we had a small balcony.  But then I discovered all of the doors could open, and my whole apartment became a balcony. I am lying on that sunny patch on the floor right now.

最初は小さいバルコニーだと思いましたけど、ドアがあくのをはっけんしました。そして、アパートはバルコニーに変わりました。今私は日向に座って書いています。

Al principio pensé que nuestro balcón era pequeño, pero luego descubrí que las puertas se abren de par en par, y mi departamento entero se convirtió en balcón.  Ahora mismo estoy sentada en el suelo disfrutando los rayos de sol.

اولاً فكرت أن شقتنا لها شرفة صغيرة جدا, ولكن اليوم اكتشفت انني أقدر أن أفتح الابواب, وهكذا تغيرت شقتنا كاملة الى شرفة كبيرة. الأن أنا جالسة على الارض تحت الشمس وأكتب

Yoga ヨガ اليوغا

Koichi and I went to a yoga class yesterday.  We haven´t done yoga in Spanish before, so it´s been an adjustment.  The names for some of the poses are different.  For example, downward-facing dog is called a tent in Spanish.  Yoga is it's own kind of language, so we are following along fine!

昨日私は浩一さんと一緒にヨガのクラスに行きました。スパイン語でヨガをしたことないので、慣れながらやっています。ヨガのポーズの名前はちがうです。例えば、「下をみる犬」と言うポーズはスパイン語で「テント]です。ヨガは特別な言語みたいので、私達はますます頑張ります！

Hoy Koichi y yo fuimos a una clase de yoga.  Ya que no habíamos tomado una clase en castellano antes, hemos tenido que acostumbrarnos un poco.  Los nombres de unas de las posiciones son distintos.  Por ejemplo, acá se dice "la carpa" en vez de el "perro hacia abajo". Yoga es como una especie de lengua en sí, así que, a pesar de los nuevos tèrminos, seguimos a la instructora màs o menos sin problema! 

امس ذهبنا الى درس اليوغا. كان اول مرة ومارسنا يوغا في اللغة الاسبنيا. بعض اسماء وضع اليوغا مختلفة قليلا. مثلا, الوضع اسمه "الكلب ينظر الى أسفل" يسمى "الخيمة" بالاسباني. اليوغا مثل لغة ثانية, ولذلك نفهم بدون مشكلة

Sad Empanada

I forgot to bring the empanadas.

Empananda

I made spinach and cheese empanadas for lunch.  Koichi liked them.  I'll bring the leftovers with me tomorrow, when I go for my first day as a volunteer at the LatinArab film festival.  First days are always a little scary.  I hope these are lucky empanadas. 

私はほうれん草とチーズのエンパナーダを作りました．浩一さんはきに入りました。明日、ラテンアラブの映画祭ではじめてボランティアをしに行くと、残り物を持って行くつもりです。最初はいつもちょっと大変です。このエンパナーダが幸せを持って来るといいと思います。

Hice empanadas de espinacas y queso para el almuerzo.  A Koichi le gustaron.  Voy a llevar los restos conmigo mañana cuando voy a trabajar como voluntaria en el festival de cine LatinArab.  Siempre es un poco difícil empezar algo nuevo.  ¡Espero que estas empanadas me traigan un poquito de suerte!

Inside: Pizza, Malbec, and the strains of vintage tango on the radio.  Outside: twilight, streetlights... and our neighbors' bongos. 

家の中：ピザ、マルベックやラジオからタンゴの歌です。家の外：たそがれ、街灯と．．．向かいの人のキューバの太鼓です。

Dentro: Pizza, Malbec, y los acordes de tango clásico en la radio.  Fuera: crepúsculo, farolas... y los bongos de unos vecinos.

في البيت: بيزا ومالبيك ونغم التانجو من الراديو. خارج البيتت: الشقف ومصباح الشارع... وطبول "بونغو" الجيران

世界に一つだけの花

Today we went to the Japanese Gardens near our apartment.  Afterwards, we went to a yoga class, ate soy Milanese (a vegetarian take on the Argentina national dish), and had a drink in a Dutch bar-  I swear sometimes I forget where I am! :-)

Hoy fuimos al jardín japonés cerca de nuestro ¨departamento¨. Después, fuimos a una clase de yoga, cenamos milanesa de ¨soja¨ y tomamos una copita en un bar holandés- les juro que ¡a veces olvido dónde estoy! :-)

今日はアパートの近くに日本ていえんに行きました。　それから、ヨガのクラスに行って、ベジタリアン三ラレサを食べて、オランダのバーに一杯飲みに行きました。ときどき私は自分で今どこかな、と思っています！ ＾－＾

Que todas las lunas sean lunas de miel...

The honeymoon period of cultural shock is always really lovely.  It's especially lovely when you are actually on your honeymoon.

カル千ャーショックには四つのだんかいがあります。　だいいちだんかいは「ハネムーン」と言います。このだんかいはとても良いです。　特に自分が本当にハネムーンをしているときは！

La etapa de la llamada "luna de miel" del choque cultural es muy linda, sobre todo cuando uno realmente está en su luna de miel.    

في خلال صدمة الثقافية, مرحلة "شهر العسل" حلو كتير, خاصة عندما انت فعلاً في شهر العسل
